Dominique Burger chaired BrailleNet until April 2016. He graduated from the Ecole Superieure d'Electricité with a PhD in Electronics. He works as a Research engineer at INSERM (Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Medicale). Since 1982, his major research interests have been in the area of interface design for users with visual impairment, particularly in the field of education. He has participated in several European projects, as scientific manager and coordinator. Dominique Burger was the scientific coordinator of this 10th European eAccessibility Forum.

 

Summary


In his closing speech, Dominique concluded that the Internet of Things is still very much in its infancy and its impact as a force for change in the day-to-day lives of people with disabilities will rely on the ability of researchers, businesses, charities and above all consumers to work together to ensure that IoT solutions are accessible to all.
